Derek is still not sold on Shatner's acting.

About those odds Spock quotes for his & Kirk's combined survival... the fact he didn't come up with round numbers kinda makes me think he's putting Kirk on.
I enjoy how Kirk pitches the Horta as natural tunnel borers, yet the miners have no way to communicate with, tempt or control the newborn Horta.
Can't tell if Spock is being serious about the Horta complimenting his ears, or if he's putting Kirk on.
I just assumed that the mother Horta would wrangle all the young'uns. My question now is what the miners actually do? Maybe they also do some refining?
The ears thing is funnier if Spock is fucking with us, but OTOH mom Horta drinking a glass of wine and saying awkward, suggestive things to Spock at a dinner party is a hilarious mental image.
