Mike Wallace interviews Rod Serling

This could well be my favorite thing you've ever posted.

Even considering his 'testimonial' hiccup at the beginning, I'm amazed how well Serling interviews. I suppose that he could have prepared responses ahead of time, or these could all be points he's discussed many times before, or maybe television writers just have a natural affinity for speaking on air; however he comes to it, I'm amazed how eloquently, readily and seriously he responds to Wallace's questions, seeming more comfortable with the medium of TV interviews than Wallace himself.

It's especially ...gratifying? delightful?... that this is from before his series debuted.

For all of the five years I had cable I wanted to make a Twilight Zone marathon but could never line it up; I suppose Netflix makes TV schedules irrelevant now.

Huh. I'd always imagined Serling as kind of the prototypical fifties intellectual.

They actually had the episodes on CBS.com for a while, but it looks like they're down now. But if they're on Netflix, you could definitely watch a few a day.

If the weekly feature isn't enough, "Dust" is one of my favorites. It's no "One For The Angels," but it's good.
