My first pitch is that this is a meditation on gentrification by a white guy afraid of every brush with minority culture in cities.
My second take is that no one knows if "Bastille" is the band or if it's the song title. Is "Pompeii" the song and "Bastille" the band? Did I fuck with the title just to mess with you? Eventually, it's all mononyms you're pulling out of a bag.
